They are among the heroes who have put their lives on the line each day for the benefit of others during this pandemic. So how do the salary of the hard working nurses of New Jersey rank among all the states.

First, let's start by saying there isn't enough money on the planet to pay these heroes the amount they deserve. That amount is literally incalculable during a time like this. Money Talks News did determine the average salary for nurses in each state.

It turns out that New Jersey ranks in the top 10, barely. As a matter of fact, the Garden State ranked at exactly #10, with an average salary for a registered nurse of $84,280. And the report also talks about the potential of a nurse shortage in New Jersey.

According to the article, the U.S. Dept. of Health & Human Services says that the Garden State is among a handful of states that could potentially have a nurse shortage by 2030. That is a frightening concern.

Now more than ever we realize the absolutely critical mission our nurse have in our lives and how our appreciation for their work can never be truly expressed. I hope this pandemic has inspired a new generation of nurses who have seen, by the example of our current nurses, what being a real life super hero is.

For the record, New York ranked 8th in the study, and the state with the highest annual salary for registered nurses is California at $113,240, but California is also a state that could face a nurse shortage soon.

Money Talks News determined their findings with statistics from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. The average registered nurse's salary nationally is $77,460.
