Galloway Police have a shelter in place for an active incident according to the Press of Atlantic City.   

According to police the shelter-in-place was forced due to a police standoff with a man with a machete. Atlantic City police and the members of the Atlantic County SWAT team are active and on the scene.

The man was taken into police custody ending the standoff with no injuries reported.

Police have closed off and blocked Pitney Road and East Ridgewood Avenue. Police are also asking residents in the area to stay inside with the doors and windows locked.

Police are also requesting students at Arthur Rann Elementary School to remain in school and continue with the normal school day. There is no update at this time and all students and staff at Arthur Rann are safe at this time according to police. No one can exit or enter the school at this time.
