Full March Worm Moon Will Shine Over the Skies in South Jersey This Weekend
Last month, we wrapped up one of the snowiest months on record for the Garden State with a full Februruary snow moon. Fortunately for South Jersey, most of the record snow was to our north and west.
Spring is in the air and this weekend we'll almost wrap up the month of March with a Full Worm Moon. According to NJ.com, the best time to see the full March moon at its brightest will be at 2:48 PM this Sunday. Saturday night's full moon will be at 98% full capacity over the skies of South Jersey.
The first full moon of spring gets its name due to the fact that earthworms will appear in the warm soil to start the spring season. Other names for the Full Worm Moon include the crow moon, sap moon, and sugar moon.
Now is a great time to get outside and do some star and full moon gazing now that the weather is finally warming up.
We can also look forward to 3 supermoons coming our way this spring. The Super Pink Moon will shine on April 26th, the Super Flower Moon will shine on May 26th and June's Super Strawberry Moon will welcome in summer on June 26th.
