When you pull-up to a hotel or casino in Atlantic City, you assume the person you're giving your car to is a real valet. One person visiting the city Sunday learned the hard way that isn't always the case.

Around 7:00 Sunday morning, two ACPD officers on patrol pulled-over a Dodge Caravan that had been reported stolen from the day before. The owner of the van had attempted to use valet parking at the Wyndham Hotel on S. North Carolina Avenue when he gave the key to his vehicle to someone who was not an employee of the hotel and that man sped-off.

The officers stopped the van and arrested 35-year-old Steven Jacobs of Atlantic City, who was later charged with theft of movable property and unlawful possession of a weapon as they found a loaded gun on the floor of the van. Jacobs was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
