Egg Harbor City Residents Have One Message: SLOW DOWN!

Egg Harbor City residents have one message for all drivers that pass through: SLOW DOWN!

Paul Gladue, who runs Red Barn Adult Books in town, posted a 4-foot by 8-foot white sign on the side of the road leads from Galloway Township into the city and it reads, "SLOW DOWN" in capital letters.

Gladue explains that this is far from the first time EHC residents have posted signs to urge drives to slow down because the road is narrow, in a crowded area and has already been the scene of fatal accidents, including a 7-year-old boy.

“It’s like, enough is enough,” Gladue said. “There’s no margin for error on this road.”

Paul did say that he has seen an improvement since he posted the sign.

There is even encouragement from the public to reduce the speed limit which could overall curb drivers from hitting the higher speeds that result in fatal accidents.
