My thanks and appreciation to John Varallo, President of the Atlantic City Professional Firefighters Local 198 for his assistance in compiling this profound list of heroes.

“The first faces that greet me, when I walk into our office, are all of those who have perished. Their sacrifices are the lessons that help keep us alive today,” said Varallo.

Former Atlantic City Mayor and current Fire Chief Scott Evans said:

Firefighting is an inherently
dangerous calling. These
firefighters gave the ultimate sacrifice while protecting life and property in Atlantic City. We will always remember them as heroes - said Evans.

There are a few missing pieces of data in our list. Please reach out to me if you can help fill-in any missing gaps.

Most importantly, if anything is wrong, or, you have additional pertinent information, please let me know.

It was both an honor and a privilege to put this important piece of Atlantic City history together.
