Cops in Atlantic City say a man from Galloway has been arrested and charged with luring a minor into a motor vehicle following an incident in the city Thursday night.

According to police, officers responded to the 100 north block of Delaware Avenue for a report of an attempted child luring at around 8:30 Thursday night. An officer arrived to spoke to the mother of a 12-year-old girl who said she and her daughter were walking their dog when the girl walked towards a corner store alone. The mother saw a vehicle approach her daughter and it stopped. After her daughter stopped to listen to the driver, she yelled and the vehicle sped-away. The child reported that the driver, identified as 59-year-old Gaetano Reale of Galloway, allegedly told her she was cute and asked her if she wanted a ride.

About an hour later, police say the vehicle was spotted at South Carolina and Pacific Avenues. Reale was confirmed to be the man that spoke with the child and was arrested without incident.

Reale was charged with luring a minor into a motor vehicle and several motor vehicle summons. He was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
