Another Big Box Store in Southern NJ Closes — But “Come in & see!”
Yep, it's still there.
For those that have been following the saga of the conflicting signs at the now-closed Bed Bath & Beyond store in Mays Landing, here is yet another chapter.
Let's start from the beginning, shall we?
At the beginning of the year, news broke that Bed Bath & Beyond was going through some rather difficult financial problems.
In an attempt to turn things around, the chain announced that over 80 stores would be closing, one of which was on the Black Horse Pike in Mays Landing.

At the end of March, that store wrapped up its clearance sale and closed for good.
Seems pretty straightforward, right?
Not so much.
Just before the Mays Landing store announced it would be closing, Bed Bath & Beyond remodeled the store a bit, and those improvements were trumpeted with a big banner that was right in front of the store.
Ironically, that banner was never taken down as their liquidation sale began...
...which gave the impression that either you were supposed to be excited that the store was closing or their "better shopping" experience wasn't very "better."
Days after the store officially closed in March, that banner was still there.
And now in the middle of April, you guessed it...
If anyone is interested in guessing how long that banner will stay up, I'd love to hear from you.
Meanwhile, if you are sad to see BB&B close, let's take a trip down retail memory lane...
