All Ocean City Schools to Return In-Person in April
All schools in Ocean City will return to in-person learning in April, according to a letter from Schools Superintendent Dr. Kathleen Taylor.
Turner released a letter Tuesday laying out the plan for the return of grades 7 through 12 to return to in-person instruction five days a week as of Monday, April 12.

Ocean City school grades kindergarten through 6th grade returned to five days a week of in-person learning on Tuesday of this week.
Taylor says grades 7 and 8 will return to five full days of instruction, while grades 9 through 12 will return to school five days a week, but with all early-dismissal days.
All students, faculty and staff will be required to wear masks at all times and a virtual learning option will remain in effect for any student who would feel more comfortable with remote learning.
The Superintendent points out that a survey showed that students have been extremely receptive to these efforts, with 91 percent of them opting in for in-person instruction.
Taylor says that although schools may not be able to adhere to 6 feet social distancing with full in-person instruction, the CDC recently loosened those restrictions from 6 feet down to 3 feet.
Positivity rates in Cape May County has recently dropped below 4% for the first time this year and the hope is that by April 12th, school faculty and staff will have had time to get the COVID-19 vaccination.
Ocean City’s plan for all students to return to in-person instruction is contingent on approval from the New Jersey Department of Education and the New Jersey Department of Health, according to Dr. Taylor’s letter.
