A group of 18 third-year medical students are about to become the first students at the new Atlantic City campus of the Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine.

According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, the students will start receiving clinical instruction at AtlantiCare’s campuses in Atlantic City and Pomona on Monday, July 15.

Geisinger acquired AtlantiCare in 2015. The Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine, based in Danville, Pa., has 11 hospital campuses, including Atlantic City and Pomona.  The medical school, which Geisinger acquired in 2017, has 426 medical students and 101 graduate students.

The students will also rotate through other AtlantiCare outpatient, primary, and specialty care sites throughout South Jersey.
