And when we say "highly rated," this place had 4.8 out of 5 stars on Google and a perfect 5.0 on Facebook.

That's not easy to obtain.

Sadly, if you think restaurants will have an easier time surviving as we head into summer when a zillion more people are in the Garden State, you aren't necessarily correct. In fact, lots of restaurants have closed within just the past few weeks.

But even with those great reviews, Ray's Roadside Kitchen on Route 539 in Cream Ridge, which just opened this past September, has suddenly closed its doors.

Their ownership took to Facebook Tuesday and made a very brief statement:

Thank you to our great customers. It has been our pleasure to serve you, unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances we are now permanently closed.

No other information was provided.

Ray's was known around the area for delicious wings, fried chicken, pulled pork, and more -- plus, fantastic customer service. A true roadside kitchen.

Meanwhile, perhaps one of the restaurants will soon appear in Monmouth County...
