Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts Will Finally Get Respect Due
This Sunday, February 9, 2025 on the biggest stage of the National Football League, (Super Bowl 59 versus The Kansas City Chiefs) … Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts will finally get the respect that he is long overdue.
Hurts will play in his 2nd Super Bowl in 3 years. Hurts has won 14 straight games … I don’t count the Washington Commanders regular season loss, when Hurts left the game in the 1st Quarter with a concussion … and, The Eagles leading.
Hurts hasn’t lost a game since September, 2024.
On the Philadelphia Eagles Football 24/7 social media page, Head Coach Nick Sirianni said the following about Jalen Hurts in the not-too-distant past:
"He works his butt off. He's always here. He's always in this building. It doesn't matter what time of day. It doesn't matter if the players are in that day or not. He's always here. Always working on his craft. Always working on getting his body, getting it physically ready. Always working on his mind making sure that he's mentally ready. A tribute to Jalen, he's a stud" - Nick Sirianni
Saquon Barkley said the following after his first huddle with the Philadelphia Eagles:
“The biggest thing that struck me was my first 7-on-7 huddle. You see A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, Dallas Goedert, and Jalen Hurts. It's not a bad group to be out there with.”
In 2022, Jalen Hurts at age 24 became the second youngest quarterback to start 12-1 or better since the 1970 league merger. Only Dan Marino was younger at 23 years old in 1984.
Jalen Hurts is a quiet leader, who never says the wrong thing … in front of, or, behind the cameras.
In the NFC Championship game rout over the Washington Commanders, Hurts rushed for 3 touchdowns. The Eagles won 55-23 on Sunday, January 26, 2025. It is the most points ever scored in an NFC championship game.
Hurts also went back to school and earned his Masters degree in 2023.
Hurts is just about automatic on 3rd or 4th down, “Brotherly Love Shove,” or, “Tush Push” plays.
Hurts plays hurt. You never hear Hurts complain about anything. You never hear Hurts take individual credit for anything.
With Jalen Hurts, it’s always about the team. Hurts’ career record is 49-27-1 as The Eagles quarterback.
This Sunday night, Hurts is going to hoist The Vince Lombardi Trophy and The Philadelphia Eagles are going to defeat The Kansas City Chiefs comfortably.
There will be no Three Peat for The Chiefs.
And, finally, Jalen Hurts will get the long overdue credit that he deserves.
NOTE: Here is our Philadelphia Eagles “Rally Dog,” created (by Noah Hurley Baker) during the 2017-2018 Super Bowl season, when The Eagles defeated The New England Patriots and Tom Brady, 41-33 on February 4, 2018. This is the Eagles only Super Bowl Championship to date.
We will be activating “The Rally Dog” this ”Super Bowl 59” Sunday.
