On Thursday, several detectives with the Atlantic City Police Department located and arrested 29-year-old Anthony Colon of Pleasantville after a brief foot chase.

Colon was wanted following a wild shoplifting incident at the CVS store on Tilton Road in EHT on Sunday, January 15th.

There, Sgt. Brett Fair, with the EHT Police Department, confronted Colon as he exited the store.

While waiting for more patrol units to arrive, the accused ran to his vehicle in the parking lot, which was still running. Sgt. Fair attempted to detain the male but was pinned between the open door of his vehicle and the door frame as the accused sped away. Sgt. Fair was able to free himself from the vehicle after a brief moment and fell into a grassy area of the parking lot.

A woman who was with the suspect remained at the store and was taken into custody for shoplifting.

The public is reminded that charges are accusations and all persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
