The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office recently delivered a powerful drunk and distracted driving program at St. Augustine Preparatory School in Richland, New Jersey.

It is keeping with the Atlantic County Prosecutor Will Reynold’s doctrine of bringing important and proactive educational messages directly to the community.

The presentation was tailored for delivery to St. Augustine Preparatory School Junior and Senior students.

Atlantic County Prosecutor William E. Reynolds directly addressed the students:

Drawing from real-life cases, impactful statistics, and heartfelt pleas to make good decisions to stress the life-altering impacts of poor decisions made behind the wheel. The message was clear: hope for a safer future begins with the choices we make today. Reynolds quoting St. Augustine, the school's patron, the presentation opened with a powerful reminder: Hope has two beautiful daughters; their names are Anger and Courage. Anger at the way things are, and Courage to see that they do not remain as they are. Students were encouraged to be courageous in choosing responsibility, and to stand against the culture of reckless behavior that continues to claim young lives, said Reynolds.

Reynolds cited a biblical reflection from 1 Corinthians 13:11 which underscored the call to maturity and accountability:

"When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things."

"Education and engagement are two of the most powerful tools we have to prevent tragedy before it happens," said Reynolds. "We are grateful to St. Augustine Prep for welcoming us and giving our team the opportunity to speak directly to the next generation of leaders and drivers,” said Reynolds.
