An Atlantic City man has been sentenced to a decade in prison in connection to a brutal attack on the boardwalk in 2021.

58-year-old Kenneth T. Parrish had previously pleaded guilty to charges of,

  • Second-degree robbery by force
    Second-degree aggravated assault with serious bodily injury

The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office says on October 8th of that year, Atlantic City Police were called to the boardwalk for a report of a woman being attacked.

During the assault, Parrish punched the 49-year-old victim's head and face multiple times. She was permanently blinded and lost the use and function of her left eye.

Her wallet and phone were stolen during the assault.

As Parrish beat the victim, a good Samaritan intervened and subdued and detained Parrish until the police arrived.

Parrish will be required to serve at least 85 percent of his sentence before becoming eligible for parole.
