As the Philadelphia Eagles begin preparing tonight defend their second Super Bowl Trophy, its always fun to go back and remember the first one.

It was the 2017 season, the Eagles were playing Tom Brady and the New England Patriots when one of the most memorable plays in both Eagles and Super history happened.

Fans know the play as the Philly Special or Philly, Philly.  However, did you know the play had an actual football name? Neither did I, until now.

The Real Name Behind the Philly Special

Nick Foles revealed the actual name of the play on social media.

Float to Pistol. Target left bunch, Philly Special on the dummy kill - which is the part of the play where Foles walks over towards Lane Johnson and yells "kill, kill."

The Players Who Made It Happen

The play is one of the most important plays in the game, involving running back Corey Clement, tight end Trey Burton, and Foles on a fourth-down-and-goal as the first-half of the game was winding down.

How the Play Unfolded in Super Bowl LII

We can all remember what happened as Jason Kelce snapped the ball to Clement, who pitched it to Burton, who found Foles wide-open in the end zone for the score, making the score 22-12.

The Eagles went on to win the game 41-33, giving them their first ever Super Bowl victory.

The play made Foles the first to ever throw and catch and touchdown in the Super Bowl, which helped him Super Bowl MVP.
