The Philadelphia Eagles opened the 2024 season in Brazil as the home team against the Green Bay Packers and could be playing overseas again in 2026.

According to a report from The Herald Sun in Melbourne, Australia, the Eagles will face the LA Rams in Melbourne at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, a 100,000-seat stadium in October of the 2026 season.

In a major sporting coup for Victoria, Los Angeles Rams and Philadelphia Eagles are expected to go head-to-head in a MCG extravaganza.

It will be the first-ever NFL regular season game played in Australia and the first of a three-game series of NFL games in the Land Down Under.

Having the Eagles play in a game in Australia makes sense with the team having Jordan Mailata, one of just six players, mostly punters, from Australia that were on NFL rosters at the start of the 2024 season.

Mailata is a former rugby league player, having played for the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs and the South Sydney Rabbitohs before being selected by the Eagles in the seventh round of the 2018 NFL Draft.

The Eagles are rumored to be the home team in the game, meaning they would lose a home game at Lincoln Financial Field.
