A brand new Outback Steakhouse is coming to Ocean Township at 2105 West Park Avenue, located on Route 35 in the Oakhurst section.

Outback Steakhouse, the Aussie-inspired restaurant chain, became popular in the late 1980s and early 90s, and will be opening at the former Nino's Coal Fired Pizza location in Oakhurst.

Dave Portnoy from Barstool once did a pizza review on Nino's Coal Fired Pizza's Brick, NJ, at the 66 Brick Blvd. location in August of 2024, giving the pizza a 7.4 rating.

“I’m thrilled to bring the lively Aussie spirit to the Jersey Shore and give our new neighbors a taste of Outback’s bold flavors,” said Amber Stanton, proprietor of the new restaurant.

It will be one of 25 Outbacks in New Jersey, with one located in Mays Landing at 4231 Black Horse Pike at the Hamilton Commons.

What to Expect at the New Outback in Ocean Township

The new Outback Steakhouse in Oakhurst will be a new design concept dubbed the “Joey,” and seats up to 180 guests and will span nearly 5,000 square feet—smaller than the traditional 6,000-square-foot Outback design. The new model that is coming to Ocean Twp. Includes a dining room, bar, and lounge area, and will feature local edgy art pieces throughout the restaurant.

“This new restaurant design features the Aussie spirit of Outback from the moment you arrive at the restaurant with a warm and welcoming dining room while also allowing us to optimize Outback’s strong to-go and delivery channels,” said Brett Patterson, President of Outback Steakhouse. “The smaller size also allows us to bring restaurants to areas where larger units may not have been possible.”

They are set to open on Tuesday and will be open Monday to Thursday 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Sunday 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
