While the internet and social media has a plethora of food reviews, there is one man who has become the standard for pizza reviews over the last decade in the United States.

Love him or Hate him, Dave Portnoy has changed modern media in numerous ways. The infamous founder of Barstool Sports has become very successful thanks to his unabashed opinions and his fans have found a platform that speaks to them.

Portnoy has been doing his pizza reviews since 2013. Over the last 12 years, every pizzeria that he has given a positive review to has seen major business boost. One pizza shop that has skyrocketed in popularity will be bringing locations to New Jersey.

Who Is Opening New Pizza Locations in NJ?

At the top of Dave Portnoy's list of favorite pizza places in the world is Sally's Apizza in New Haven, Connecticut. Even though they began expansion before Portnoy gave their pizza a 9.2 rating, Sally's Apizza has evolved from a regional favorite to an in-demand pizzeria.

There are currently five locations in Connecticut and two in Massachusetts. But Sally's Apizza has announced a massive expansion plan that involves adding five more in Connecticut, three more in Massachusetts, and eight coming to Florida.

In Sally's Apizza Presentation about brand expansion to "building the Restaurant Chain Pizza Lovers Always Wanted", the company wants to open a total of 25 new locations in New Jersey.

While this is a target number, the company wants to open a total of 35 in Florida, but already have eight in their short term plans. Based on that math, we can expect at least 5-6 locations coming to New Jersey in the near future.

There have been no specific New Jersey locations announced yet as part of Sally's Apizza 12-state expansion plan. Online speculation and rumors say that most of the future NJ locations will be in North Jersey because there are larger numbers of people who live in the Metro-New York City region who are frequent travelers to the Connecticut area.

This is also why Sally's Apizza is opening locations in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, Delray Beach, Palm Beach, and Jupiter. Those Florida destination towns are among the most popular for New Englanders who are taking vacations in the Sunshine State.

Sally's Apizza has been one of the standards of pizza in New Haven, Connecticut since 1938. What makes their pizza unique is the pies feature a freshly shredded cheese blend that the company says "melds" with the sauce in a 3,000 degrees Fahrenheit oven flame that creates a crust that is "both crispy and chewy."

But Dave Portnoy has reviewed over 100 New Jersey Pizzerias, and given almost all of them good reviews in his "One Bite Pizza Reviews".  Here is a list of the pizza shops that Portnoy has reviewed so far in New Jersey:
