When Walt Disney first brought the Mickey Mouse character to life in 1928, he could not have imagined that his creation would become one of the biggest icons in the world.

Almost one hundred years later, millions of visitors go to Disneyland in California and Disney World in Florida to experience the "magic" that Walt Disney first started with Mickey Mouse.  But you may not know that New Jersey holds an important and unique place in the history of Disney's character popularity.

What we know today as Disney On Ice was first performed on July 14, 1981 at the New Jersey Meadowlands. Called "Walt Disney’s World On Ice", the show's success in New Jersey laid the groundwork for over 40 years of ice skating performances showcasing Disney's most beloved characters.

Over the last 44 years, Disney on Ice has come to New Jersey 1-2 times each winter. The next performance will be a special showcase at one of the state's most famous arenas.

What You Need To Know About Disney On Ice Coming To Atlantic City

The newest edition of the popular ice skating show is coming to South Jersey in November. Before Jump In debuts at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall, the Disney On Ice cast members will take part in a Skating Clinic.

In partnership with the Atlantic City Figure Skating Club, Disney on Ice will host a skate clinic open to ages 7 years old to adult on Wednesday, November 5. Atlantic City Skate Zone (501 North Albany Ave) will host the skating clinic, offer kids and adults the opportunity to learn about choreography, ice dancing, and other exclusive experiences from 4 pm to 4:45 pm.

Disney On Ice presents Jump In will be at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall Friday, November 7th, Saturday, November 8th, and Sunday, November 9th. Before the showtimes each day, parents can purchase Character Experience, where families can meet popular Disney characters like Moana before they perform on the ice.

Also, attendees are encouraged to arrive early for Disney on Ice to see Olaf'S Festive Preshow (included with purchase of show tickets). Witness Olaf discover different holiday traditions with his Frozen best friends, Elsa and Anna.
