Another Eagles Alum Fundraiser with Major Turnout in Sea Isle City, New Jersey

The summer season is always a busy time of year at the Jersey Shore with numerous events for locals and vacationers to enjoy. But one South Jersey Shore Town has become an annual hub for Fundraisers and Philadelphia Eagles Fans.

Located off Garden State Parkway Exit 17, Sea Isle City has been a popular summer destination for over 120 years. The Coastal Community, located in New Jersey's southernmost county, has reached new levels of popularity thanks to former Eagles players hosting fundraisers on the island.

Philadelphia Eagles Legend Jason Kelce has hosted his Team 62 Shore Birds Fundraiser for the last few years at The Ocean Drive Bar. This summer, Kelce and his friends raised over $1 million for the Eagles Autism Foundation, breaking his record set last year of $865,000.

Another former Eagles player has found Sea Isle City to be a great Shore Town for fundraising events, and his foundation had a record turnout for their event this summer.

More Fundraising Records Set In Sea Isle City This Summer

Back in 2013. when Connor Barwin joined the Philadelphia Eagles, he founded the Make The World Better Foundation with his mom. The Non-Profit Organization's goal is to raise money for public space revitalization projects to give youth and families places for sports and recreation.

The MTWB Foundation has already raised tens of millions for parks and recreational areas that have been completed around the Philadelphia region. Summer 2025 was the Third Annual Make The World Better Pickleball Tournament and After Party Fundraiser.

The Make The World Better Foundation announced they raised over $70,000 on Saturday, June 28th in Sea Isle City. Sources tell 973 ESPN they had a record turnout for the Pickleball Tournament and After Party Fundraiser hosted at Dockside on Park Road.

Former Eagles Linebacker Connor Barwin joined Hanging with Hennig on 973 ESPN to talk about how proud he was to see the MTWB Foundation still raising money for a great cause and the Pickleball Tournament being such a success:

"I played in the NFL for 10 years, (and have) been working for the Eagles for the last five, going into my sixth season, (and) I'm proud of this (MTWB Event) for a number of reasons. But I'm most proud that we are still existing, and we're still going strong....Professional athletes start things while they play, and it's hard to make (everything) sustainable. (But) because Philadelphia is such a special place, and that love of sports, and if you try to continue to do good stuff for the community, they will still support"

"I stopped playing (in Philadelphia after) 2016, I went and played in (Los Angeles), in New York, but there's still support. We're going to raise almost $75,000 here today, and that speaks to the staff at MTWB Foundation, but it really speaks to how special the community here is of Eagles fans and sports fans in this area."
