Nearly five years after the senseless shooting death of a man driving in Millville, the killer has been formally sentenced.

Back on May 18, 2018, Terrell Savage was on foot when, shortly before 11 p.m., he reportedly fired 10 gun shots at an SUV being driven by Maurice "Reese" Lewis near Dock and Broad streets in Millville, according to Daily Journal reports.

Following the shooting, Lewis' vehicle crashed. He was found to have been shot in the back of the head. He died two days later. Two passengers in the vehicle were not hit.

Authorities say Savage's actions were entirely unprovoked.

Savage was indicted on charges of murder in 2019. His girlfriend, Tashannah Wilkins of Millville was also indicted on counts of fourth-degree conspiracy and third-degree hindering apprehension of prosecution, Daily Journal reports.
