7 Things People From the Jersey Shore Absolutely Hate
New Jersey is the best state you could possibly live in and there is absolutely nothing to complain about...
Note the sarcasm above.
Okay, so New Jersey isn't perfect, but it is pretty great.
While people can argue that there are states that are better to live in than New Jersey, people can be wrong.
I am a bug cheerleader for New Jersey, but even I can admit that there are things that can be quite annoying.
Here are just a few...
1. Summer Traffic
Once the BENNYs descend upon the Jersey Shore, the amount of brake lights we see on the parkway is almost hypnotizing. Between the Parkway, 72, 37, 70, 138, 34, etc. traffic can be the most frustrating thing about living at the Jersey Shore.
2. Being Asked If We're From "Joisey"
Hearing someone from out of state pronounce Jersey as "Joisey" is like nails on the chalkboard. Even our friends in North Jersey don't actually say Jersey as "Joisey."
I get it's a comical exaggeration, but it is annoying.
3. Hearing Someone Refer to New Jersey As the Armpit of America
For some reason the moment I typed out #3 I thought of the cheer from Bring It On..."hate us cuz we're beautiful, but we don't like you either."
That's the only appropriate response if you hear someone refer to Jersey as the armpit of America.
4. Being Asked if We Know Snooki
Let's be honest, Jersey Shore is a guilty pleasure show for most of us here at the Jersey Shore. We like to pretend that it's the worst thing ever, but many of us secretly like it.
However, being asked if you know Snooki deserves no response and an overdramatic eye-roll.
5. Hearing Someone Call it "Taylor Ham"
Sorry my North Jersey friends, you are just living a lie. You could not be more wrong.
6. Exit 82
Getting off and on the Parkway near Seaside is just plain terrifying. There isn't much of an acceleration lane and people are speeding to get off the parkway at the same time.
We really need an update so that getting off on 37 is like 70...that entrance and exit ramp is just plain beautiful.
7. The Cost
New Jersey is a very expensive state to live in. It feels like we are taxed on taxes sometimes.
Sure, there are a lot of things that bother people from the Jersey Shore, but at least we aren't Pennsylvania.
