Door Dash Is Now Delivering Alcohol in New Jersey

Liquor delivery is now expanding here in New Jersey. Yes if you have been considering having alcohol (beer and wine) delivered to your home you can now use a popular food delivery service to have your martini come right to your door.

In a recent Patch article, "Delivery service Door Dash announced it will now offer alcohol delivery from bars, restaurants and liquor stores to New Jersey customers. The move comes a year after the state adopted a rule allowing third-party companies to deliver booze in the Garden State. In a statement on the company's website, Door Dash said customers can order beer and wine from eligible merchants."

There are other services that deliver alcohol to residences, but this is a first for the popular food delivery service Door Dash, here in the Garden State. "To see participating retailers in a specific area, customers should download the DoorDash app and navigate to the "Alcohol" tab." When I checked my own Door Dash app no vendors met the criteria for home wine/beer delivery.

According to the Patch article, "When ordering alcohol, consumers will be required to provide an ID both before their first delivery and during all subsequent deliveries. They must also meet their Door Dash driver face-to-face — no contactless delivery is allowed."
