The Latest Scam Involving Well-Known Banks Could Be Targeting Your Money In New Jersey
These scams are becoming more and more sophisticated.
I keep receiving text messages claiming to owe money on my E-ZPass - total scam.

And I recently got another one from the postal service, needing my address, which was also fake.
With how busy and rushed everyone is these days, it's easy to see how someone might fall for one of these scams, so just a friendly reminder to never share your personal information with unverified sources.
Now there's a new scam to be aware of targeting customers from some of the most well-known banks in New Jersey.
The latest scam to watch out for.

According to the Daily Mail, scammers are sending out texts that appear to come from Bank of America, PNC Bank, and Wells Fargo, claiming there's an issue with your account.
The message says to call a specific number or wait for an incoming call from a bank representative.
What makes it so believable is that the scammers appear to have your banking information, including recent transactions.
According to the article, "Once trust is established, the fraudster instructs the victim to 'secure' their funds by withdrawing cash and either depositing it into a traditional or cryptocurrency ATM, or by purchasing gift cards."
The scammers then have your money!
Again, it's important to note that if you ever get a suspicious text message or phone call, do NOT give out any information, and call your bank directly if you're uncertain about a recent text or phone call.
