It happens every winter at the Jersey Shore. We start thinking about all the things we miss about summer in New Jersey.

The Sights And Sounds New Jersey Residents Miss Most About Summer

I was sitting on my couch, watching another episode of Criminal Minds, trying to think of something else to do while I was sitting in the house again.

As usual, I couldn't think of anything. All I want to do is take a stroll on a warm beach, and there's not a lot of that in the Garden State this time of year.

I thought one thing that would satisfy my need for a Jersey Shore summer fix. I'd make a list of all the things I missed the most about a Jersey Shore summer.

I managed to find enough time to categorize them as well. I guess it's that bad. But I did compile a good list.

New Jersey Summer In Categories

Sight - This is a tough one. There are so many beautiful summer sights at the Jersey Shore, but I'll go with the view of the ocean and palm trees at Jenkinson's in Point Pleasant Beach.

Sound - It's easy to say a wave crashing on the beach or the sound of seagulls. I love them both, but I'm going to choose the sound of the bells at a Jersey Shore drawbridge letting a boat through.

Smell - This is a fun one. Did I choose sausage & pepper on the boardwalk? Perhaps I decided on summer flowers, or the smell of meat on the grill? No, I went with that amazing smell of summer rain (although I don't root for rain in the summer).

It's safe to say that no matter what your favorite sights, smells, and sounds of summer are, they can't get here fast enough.
