It's arguably one of the most iconic parts of American pop culture; hundreds of thousands of people squeeze into Times Square watching live entertainment and waiting to welcome in the New Year hoping to get on TV.

But if Times Square isn't your thing, and the idea of standing outside not able to access a bathroom for hours surrounded by people you don't know isn't appealing, there's a very fun New Year's Eve celebration that happens in New Jersey each year, and it's pretty unique.

The M&M Drop Returns To Hackettstown, NJ This Year For New Year's Eve

Yes, Hackettstown New Jersey celebrates the new year by counting down with a massive M&M.

It's all part of Hackettstown New Year's Eve Blast, and this year is set to be a spectacular night of fun.

The fun starts on December 31st around 6 PM and runs through the New Year (January 1st until 2 AM) and there's a lot for people to enjoy during the New Year's Eve celebration.

Hackettstown has teamed up with Mars Wrigley, the candy company again this year so there will be M&M-themed characters you can get pictures with as well as giveaways and a kids' zone that features cow train rides and pictures with a massive snow globe.

Then, right around midnight, you'll be able to count down to the new year when the giant M&M lentil drops ringing in 2025.

2024's M&M drop was the first one the town did, and it was such a huge success that it's coming back for 2025.
