According to the Cumberland County Prosecutor's Office, four murders that happened in the month of December between 2007 and 2019 remain unsolved.

These cold cases, while some are several years old, remain open and active investigations.

On December 13, 2007, Robert W. Bryant (who went by the nickname "Champagne") was standing outside of his home at 315 North Fourth Street in Millville with friends when shots were fired. Bryant was shot but was able to get back into his house. He later died as a result of a gunshot wound and his death has been ruled a homicide.

On December 1, 2015, Bridgeton Police and Cumberland County Prosecutor's Office's Major Crimes Unit investigated the shooting death of Rasheem Howard at 333 Colfax Street. The manner of death was classified as a homicide. NJ.com reported the shooting may have been gang-related.

Vineland Police responded to a home invasion-style robbery on December 13, 2017, where the victim, Tahir Bey, was shot and killed at 556 Foster Avenue.

Last year on December 14th, authorities say 18-year-old Henry Jones (spelled as "Henry" by the prosecutor's office but as "Henri" by numerous media outlets) was shot in Bridgeton. NJ.com reported officers found Jones outside of a home suffering from a gunshot wound. He died on his way to a local hospital. Jones had recently become a father and he left behind a 3-month-old child.

Authorities point-out that these cases aren't just forgotten about. In a 2015 interview with NJ.com, Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae said, "The unsolved homicides are the result of lack of evidence, lack of cooperation by witnesses, lack of information and/or identifiable leads that investigators can pursue at this time." Webb-McRae also said open investigations are reviewed frequently and new leads that could be pursued are discussed.

The four cold cases that we listed above are among nearly three dozen unsolved murders that occurred between 1990 and 2020 in Cumberland County. Each case can be viewed on the Prosecutor's website.
