Sad! No 50th Year TV Viewing of ‘A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving’

Thanksgiving just won't be the same this year without watching A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving on broadcast TV.

The holiday classic marks its 50th anniversary this Thanksgiving without a single 'free TV' broadcast.

Over the last couple of years, PBS has come to the rescue, airing the iconic special without any commercials so families with young kids could continue the tradition of watching A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving the way their parents did back in the day.

Shown for free on good old broadcast TV.

Not so, this year.

Sure, you can stream A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving if you have  Apple TV+, but, to me, it's just not quite the same.

Can't we still have some traditional things shown on network television during the holidays that give parents and children the chance to experience the same feelings together?

A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving was the tenth prime-time animated television special based on the popular comic strip Peanuts, by Charles M. Schulz. It originally aired on the CBS network on November 20, 1973, and won an Emmy Award the following year.

Of course, you can stream A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving exclusively on Apple TV+ with a paid $9.99 a month subscription or a free 7-day trial.

Call me old-fashioned, but it is not the same.
